LOCAL OVERNMENT POLLS: GROUP WARNS IMPOSTORS
A sociopolitical group called The North East Forum has
warned on people it described as political impostors to desist from their present
journey of perdition before it is too late.
Speaking through its Secretary Alhaji Yekini Anisere, the
group alleged that some people are bent on subverting the wishes of the people
of the local government, especially members of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The people according to him have the inalienable right to
choose the person to head the affairs of the council.
Anisere told PNT that a stakeholders meeting was held as
agreed at the PDP local government party secretariat on Thursday morning during
which Samuel Ogunjobi emerged as the consensus candidate of the party for the
2024 local government chairmanship election.
The group was however shocked when Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun,
the party chairman in cahoots with some other impostors announced they had
selected the Incumbent council chairman for an inglorious second term.
The group noted that the those who conspired for this
heinous crime failed to realize that the way they have sold the conscience to
Akintayo in the past will not work again.
Anisere warned those who are driven by inordinate ambition
for appointments and 2027 House of Representative tickets that the will of the
people will not be sacrificed for their ambitions.
They called on His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde not to
allow these disgruntled elements to disrupt the will of his people and their
desire for a faithful and reliable chairman for Ibadan North East.
